Hello, I'm Katie B.
Katie brings a unique insight to sustainability with her extensive experience in the world of design and construction. This insight has made her a master leader in system techniques and controls that allow design and development concepts of all types to be built with maximum success. Her passion for the world and humanity combined with a growth mindset has brought her to look for opportunities for sustainable design and operations in every physical environment she encounters. Her career started in Chicago, designing office spaces for a wide array of clientele for multiple large architecture and interior design firms. After 11 Chicago winters, she transferred to HOK’s San Francisco office, where she joined a core leadership team to manage designers, architects and engineers for Doha, Qatar’s new 6 million ft² airport. Hamad International Airport is now named one of the most luxurious airports in the world. Needing a bit of a career change, Katie had the opportunity to consult for Google’s Data Center Design and Construction group to design and implement a document control system to aid facility engineers to quickly access all information on the products, systems and details in all their data centers across the globe. After learning more about the dire state of the planet and the built environment’s effect on it as well as humanity, Katie has committed to work exclusively on LEED, WELL and other Sustainable-minded projects moving forward.
