I am an independent consulting engineer with more than 20 years of experience in building science​,​ cleantech innovation​,​ and the implementation of novel technologies in the built environment. I am an interdisciplinary generalist savvy in all facets of building engineering and a nationally recognized expert in building automation and control systems. I am also a permaculture designer​,​ a trained naturalist and a former farmer​,​ so I have a deep understanding of ecological sustainability and apply systems thinking to every challenge. My clients are startups​,​ industry research organizations​,​ climate-tech investors​,​ and progressive architecture​/​engineering firms. I help startups de-risk innovation by asking questions to reveal unknown unknowns​,​ explore how a novel product fits its market and finds its customers​,​ and identify resources – including other experts – to answer specific technical questions.
